Bridge between environment and industry designed by membrane technology (FP7-NMP-2008-CSA-2).
Project description MemBridge project is aimed at enlarging and reinforcing strategic partnerships between European and Russian/NIS researchers in the field of membrane science, in order to support European scientific and economic development. is a spin off project of NanoMemPro, the Network of Excellence on nanoscale-based membrane technologies (EC/FP6/-NMP priority). The leading European research laboratories will participate through EMH together with the Russian Membrane Network (RusMemNet), which constitutes itself in Russia starting from 5 main laboratories. The main idea of this project is the rapprochement of these two membrane networks. The general goal formulated will be attained by realising several joint actions aimed at reaching the following three objectives constituting three parts of the project and measuring its progress.
Objective 1 : To put into contact representatives of EMH/NanoMemPro NoE and other European organisations, and the equivalent number of leading Russian and NIS scientists from academia, public research laboratories and industry. The objective of these contacts will be to identify and enhance complementary interests, generally aimed at elaboration of joint fulcrums for resolving a major global issue. This will provide germs for future joint proposals under the forthcoming calls of the 7th Framework Programme and other funding programmes.
Objective 2 : To elaborate a long term strategy and a well structured programme/concept for the next several years of international collaboration and diverse joint specific actions involving research, education, training, innovation activity, equipment sharing, person mobility, and being in narrow interaction with local government and other appropriate institutions and processes, in the field of membrane science and technology.
Objective 3 : To provide a platform (MemBridge Platform) for establishing and enlarging contacts between researchers of Europe and Russia/NIS in academia, public research laboratories and industry in order to identify and enhance complementary interests. To assure regular exchange of information between EMH/NanoMemPro and RusMemNet and create mutual rubrics in web sites of both networks. These actions should facilitate the bringing together core competencies and expertise in order to build research partnerships that will be able to submit joint proposals under the forthcoming calls of the 7th Framework Programme and to identify topics of mutual interest for future coordinated calls and other initiatives to foster cooperation. EMH is the coordinator of MemBridge project. Project duration: 24 months Start date: May 1st 2009. |
